North Providence motorcyclist killed in accident

Posted by Robert T. Karns | May 21, 2015 | 0 Comments

Recently, a 57-year-old North Providence man died after succumbing to critical injuries. The injuries were the result of a motorcycle accident. According to an accident reconstruction team, the motorcycle apparently flipped over after the 57-year-old was unable to maintain control. Speed is considered a possible factor in the crash.

But police are soliciting public aid in an attempt to better determine what may have caused the accident. In particular, the police would like information regarding a green minivan style vehicle that witnesses claim turned in front of the motorcycle. The witnesses told investigators that the 57-year-old and the person in the minivan may have had a verbal exchange just before the accident. It is not believed that the motorcycle and minivan collided.

Because the investigation is still ongoing, it is impossible to know for sure what happened at the moment the accident occurred. What is known is that a man lost his life. If that man had a family, his loss could be devastating for a number of reasons. First there is the emotional toll that losing a loved one can exact. Second, if the man was a household breadwinner, the family could be faced with unexpected economic challenges.

This is why a thorough investigation into such accidents is so important. An investigation can help determine the cause of an accident. Determining the cause of an accident clarifies liability. With liability established, the pursuit of compensation becomes a more straightforward process.

If one of your family members is ever seriously or fatally injured in a motorcycle accident, a personal injury attorney may be able to help you get compensation for medical and other expenses. The attorney could possibly oversee an investigation and act as your representative.
