Attorney
Originally from Massachusetts, Sarah Karns Burman completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Miami in 1999. After a year abroad teaching in Germany, she received her legal education at the University of Miami School of Law earning her Juris Doctor in 2003.
Sarah is a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island. She is a member of the Board for the Rhode Island Association for Justice (RIAJ), a member of the Traumatic Brain Injury Litigation Group, and a member of the Newport County Bar Association.
Sarah practices personal injury law on a contingency fee basis and there is no fee unless successful. She has been practicing in Rhode Island alongside her father since being sworn into the Rhode Island Bar in 2004. Sarah has routinely and successfully handled car accident cases from single to multiple-car pileups, and has experience handling cases for people with injuries prior to the car accident. Pre-existing injuries are not a roadblock for Sarah.
Sarah Karns Burman is authorized to conduct arbitrations in Rhode Island and is on the list of approved court-annexed arbitrators.
When not working, Sarah enjoys spending time with her family and meeting new people.
