Rhode Island car accident resembles action-packed movie scene
Sirens wail and police cars scream down the road. A car jumps up on the sidewalk, and a police officer has to jump out of the way. The errant driver continues flying down the road, swiping cars and even a school bus as he flees. This sounds like a scene from an action-packed movie. Recently, it was a real-life scene in a Rhode Island town as a hit-and-run car accident turned into a terrifying adventure for numerous people who were in the path of the errant driver.
According to police, a stolen SUV was involved in a hit-and-run accident. As police tried to stop the driver, he charged a police officer who was on the sidewalk. The vehicle then sped south on Route 95. As the driver attempted to evade police, he hit numerous vehicles in his path. In addition to the cars he crashed into, he also ran into a school bus.
Initial reports indicate that no children were hurt when the man hit the bus. However, it is not known if there were any injuries resulting from the numerous other vehicles he had hit. High-speed chases of this type can often result in injury to innocent parties.
A car accident is more than just an inconvenience; it can sometimes cause transportation problems and financial hardship for innocent parties. It is almost certain that the hit-and-run driver will face numerous traffic-related charges. Additionally, if it is determined that injury and other losses are a result of such a car accident, the injured party may decide that seeking restitution through filing a claim in a Rhode Island court of law is in his best interest.
